How we do it

1. The idea

The choice of an animal is followed by diligent data collecting and research into the life, image, behavior, and habits of our future residents of the park. To be sure we stay on the right track, we seek out experts and scientists to lend us a hand in the process.

2. Sketches

This is the stage where information gets translated into images. We envision how to present our new addition to the park and what segments of life to show and how.  We engage in storytelling through pictures, visualizing the final product.

3. Scientific consultations

The scientists who join our project operate as vast pools of knowledge we return to drink from again and again. They are the benevolent guides carefully overseeing the animal’s journey down the production pipeline.

“The teeth are too perfect. For full biological reality, I would make some random teeth smaller.”

  Donald M. Henderson, paleontologist

The new look is amazing and perfect!

4. 3D models and check-ups

Yes, it’s a painstaking process to get everything just right, but completely worth it! The 3D modelers go back and forth with the scientists, as if in a weird match of table tennis, where the winner actually is the super accurate, hyper-realistic model ready for animation!

5. Environment

We want our animals to feel right at home in our park, so the same attention to detail is given to their habitats. We build their homes from sketches to 3D models, consulting the scientist with each new step to ensure they are nice and cozy for them when done.

6. Sound

We like to challenge our sound designers. Imagine being given a task to dream up what dinosaurs sounded like! No small task, for sure. What other noises can be heard in the Early Cretaceous forest? Don’t worry, you’ll soon be able to find out!

7. Animation

We come to the most exciting segment of the production pipeline, the life giving one. Here our animals learn to move, run, jump, hunt and do all the wonderful things they do in real life. Naturally, scientist witness this birth and make sure all of them get the right skills in the right way.

8. Virtual Reality

Last but certainly not least, we come to the final step of this journey – transfer into Virtual Reality. This is where our animal worlds are enabled to open the gates and welcome in any and all curious visitors.

Enjoy!
